"What's the Occasion You Say?" I'll Tell You
According to a recent column by David Brooks called, "What Machines Can't Do", there is a still a people factor in a world of advancing technology. This is becoming more and more of a problem. People are relying on technology more than themselves. A simple hand clock is still considered technology butt most teenagers can'y even tell what time it is without looking down at there phones. Once you have the newest latest product, you become sucked in and expect to have more and more. Most people can't even enjoy flipping the pages of a paper book because the internet has them now. David writes," certain mental skills will become less valuable because computers will take over. Having a great memory will probably be less valuable." This is true. Our phones update and tell us what happens, just as we write it down we can forget about it because we have something to remember it for a us. Someone to rely on is always good, but relying on something? it's one thing to use an electronic device for entertainment or in most cases learning, but throwing away useful techniques such as working out simple math problems is not really okay. Are we going to end up having an i Robot incident? Technology has taken over. Social networks are the new thing. Everyone is just looking for the newest, most best thing.
